My work is currently focused on the contribution of different kinases (PKA, PKC, and CaMKII) to the expression of enhanced amphetamine self-administration observed in animals previously exposed to the drug. More specifically, I am assessing the effects of point mutations at different residues on the GluR1 subunit of the AMPA receptor in medium spiny neurons of the nucleus accumbens.
